War Upon Women.

A lady who was somewhat inclined to stand up for the rights of her sex was criticising an article in a newspaper. Sh* stigmatized it as “making war upon women.” “Surely,” remarked a gentleman present, “there can be nothing wrong in making war upon women.” The lady considered this remark unworthy of notice. “Because,” added the gentleman, “making war upon women is simply laying siege to their hearts.” —New York Star.
