DFMOCBATIC BEPBEBENTATIVE CONVENTION. Pursuant to notice the Democratic Representative Convention for the counties of Jasper and Newton, met in the Town Hall, at Mount Ayr, Aug. 28th, 1884, and was called to order by Ezra G. Nowels, Chairman Jaspc r County Central Committee. Jas. WMcEwen was elected President and Dr Ira C. Kelley. Secretary. On motion the delegates present were instructed to cast the full vote to which their respective counties were entitled. Nominations being in order, Ezra C. Nowels. in a few appropriate remarks presented the name of David H. Yeoman, of Jasner county. The nomination was made by as clamation.
Mr. Noweis was called for and in a few happy remarks urged upon all to use their best efforts to secure the election of D. H. Yeoman. On motion thanks voted for the use of the Hall. On motion convention adjourned. JAS. W. McEWEN, Chairman. Ira C. Kelley, Sec’y.
