The Republican party, at its organ* ization.or rather the leaders were de nonneed a 9 “Nigger Worshippers.”— Fcr the past two weeks the Rensselaet Republican devoted considerable space for the benefit and encouragement of the negro band engaged in holding camp meeting at the Fair grounds. They were feasted and flattered, too, we are informed, by some of the first families connected with the radical church. Friday night they closed up theirjengagement with a grand “povF-wow” at McCoy &Th mpson’s bank eorner. The colored speaker expressed for himself and associates their exceeding gratification at the distinction accorded them, and paid tribute to the Republican party. The grand “bio w** out” ended with the reported elopement of Mrs. Horton with the socalled "Boy” preacher. So many rumors are afloat in regard to this latter part of the programme that we do not feel justified in accepting all reports* aud going into details at this writing*
