An enthusastic impromptu meeting was held at the Democratic Cub Room, Monday evening. The members of the Glee Club acquitted themselves admirably and the speech of Hon. J. H. Tuesday, and the speech of Hon. T. J. Wood accenting the re-nomination for Congress, was received with fre quently repeated outbursts of applause.

While Hon. T. J. Wood was ad dressing the convention Tuesday afternoon, the negroes now holding forth, were driven up in front of the Opera House, and was considerably annoying the audience by their singing. The question witn many is “Were they employed to carry out that programme?—and if so, by whom?” To Cedar Lake.— The L. N. A. & C. railway will run a special, low rate excursion train to Cedar Lake, on Saturday, July 26th, 1884. The round trip fare fiom Monon. Peasant Ridge and Rensselaer will be one dollar; from Rose Lawn seventy-five cents. The train will pass Rensse laer at 10:32 a. ui., and reach Coder Lake at noon. Returning it will le»ve Cedar Lake at 7p. m. The train will be handled on time.

Died - At his home, in Rensselaer, Saturday morning, July 19, 1884. Danisl Duvall, aged 43 years, 5 months and 10 days. 1 Mr. Duvall wa- hern In Kosciusko coun y, this State, and when about one year old his father moved to Rensselaer, where “Dan,” as he was familiarly ~alled, resided to the time of his death. He leaves a wife. 6 children and a number of relatives to mourn nis demise. A large conoourse of relatives and friends fol-> lowed his remains to the last resting place. “Rest in Peace.”
