The Happy By-gone Days.

There was a time when the children in all parts of the State could detect the odor of broiling spare-ribs in the air. There was a time when they fattened on back-bone pie, and when they could go to bed and dream of the great hunks of fatty-bread they had consumed. Those were the golden days of prosperity, and the State will never be prosperous until the farmers, renew the system of making their own provisions.
