|f« Hint. Hwfiwl. FUIDAT, JUNE 6. 1884 GREENBACK CONVENTION. The County Central Committee of the Greenback Labor Party, met at the Court House, in Rensselaer. Jasper county, Indiana, for the purpose of fixing a time to hold a County Convention for nominating a county ticket, and decided to hold the convention on tne 21st of June. The representatives to be tbre* delegates for each tow; ship and three for each town. The secretary was requested to procure some able speaker to address the people of Jasper county on the day of the Convention. Jas Welch, Chairman Jas W Piebce. Secretary. Gen. Vanßensselaer left Rensselaer Tuesday morning for his home in New Jersey.

A Summej Teachers Institute will Ibe held at enssclaer, beginning July 1 14. and will continue six weeks. The last week will be the Regular County Institute. Our pu die scnools have been re cognized by the State Board of Education, and < ur High School is now a commissioned High School, which will entitle any graduate completing the present course of study to enter the Freshman class ol the State University. State Normal, or Purdue College without a re-examination. A member of the State Board will fce detailed to visit it each year, and report upon its condition. For this our people are indebted to the efforts of County Superintendent D. M. Neln son. Prof. Kirsch, Superintendent of the Rensselaer Schools, and our School Board.
Marion L. Spitler was eiected a Trustee by the Town Oouncll last Monday evening, vice Ezra L. Clark, whose term has expired. Prof. Kirsch will be retained as Superintendent another year. A High School Teacher will have to be added to the corps of instructors. Some new rules will prob abiy'beTadopted to still further the usefulness of the Schools.
