By invitation of “Ben” Smoot, we took a seat in his buggy Wednesday, and made a flying visit to our neighboring little town, Mt. Ayr. The Ir« ' win Bros, and 3eo. Morgan were busy in their workshops “Sec” Seward, t jo, was “happy as a lark” manufacturing harness, etc. Our old friend, John Hufty, seemed to have an extensivo patronage in mercantile goods. John is an old resident of that section, has a large arquaintance, and by fair, dealings, gentlemanly qualities and generous disposition has built up an extensive trade . Geo. Hufty, of the Hufty House, is building up a reputation for that “Home for'the wanderers” that mus< eventually make his efforts deservedly successful. We had ’a few moments oi at with our old Democratic friend, Sam. Long* who is wide awak and ready for the political contest. On last Monday night another Blase occurred in our n elghboring town of Remington, this eounty causing the destruction of about $ ,» 000 worth of property* These fires are becoming too frequent in town for comfort, and undoubtedly are caused by incendiaries
