The Morrison Bill.

The Morrison bill proposing a reduction of tariff duties which amounts on the average to little more than 15 per cent, is now before Congress. The report recommending its passage is brief and to thepo : nt; the adverse minority report thrashes over old straw about “agitation” and “business disturbance,” but offers not a single argument to show that the proposed reduction is unjust in principle or that it will work any injury to the country in practical operation.— Chicago Tribune.
