The business failures in the United States and Canada, for the week ending April 6, as reported to the commercial agency of R. G. Dun & Co., New York, numbered 197, as compared with 182 the previous week. The distribution of failures was as follows: New England States, 11; Western, 58; Middle, 26; Southern, 46; Pacific States and Territories, 14; New York city, 18, and Canada, 29.
