The great tidal svave of 1874 began in Ohio. From thence it spread over the country, and resulted in a decided Democratic Congress, and finally in the election of Samuel J. Tilden in 1870. The temper of the people is not to be mistaken. What has occurred in Ohio will follow in New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois and other States. The d its of Republicanism are numbered.
