Should any nice-looking fellow badly in want of money after bank ing hours, tender you a well filled bank check as security for a small advance until the banks open, be sure you know your man before you accommodate him. Don’t be taken in! The Home Troupe will give three Dramatic Entertainments at the Op* era Bouse, in Rensselaer, on the night* ct the 27th, 28th and 29th of September, under the auspices and fcr the benefit of McPherson Post of the Grand Army of the Republic of this place. No pains will be spared to make these the best entertainments of the season. On the night of the 28th will De rendered the Soldiers’ Camp Fire- No one should miss this performance. Rev. B. F.. Ferguson will attend the yearly meeting at Ridgeville, remain ing over Sabbath. His appointment for Sunday evening is therefore withdrawn. Rev. William Sayler will fill theap'poiutment at, Warren School House Sunday, at 11 o’clock am. The Church of God will hold a meeting of days, at Goodland, commencing on Friday next, and continuing over the'following Sunday. Elder Reed, of Chicago, and Elder Hal stead, of Rensselaer, will oe present.
