The Vain Pullet.

A fine, fat pallet who was roosting on the limb of a tree safe frdm danger was saluted by a fox with : “ Good evening, Miss Pallet—l never saw you look better. Your figure is perfectly lovely.” “ Do you really think so ?” “ Certainly I do. I’d give anything if I could wear my hair done up in a French roll and have it become me as it does you.” “Aren’tyou joking?” “I was never more serious in my life.
