A Generous Range for the Wolf.
What sort of game once infested the hills of Northern New Jersey and how inhospitably it was entertained may be learned from the following resolution passed at a town meeting in 1811. It is a part of a column of choice extracts from the old town recorda. which the Deckertown Independent published last week : “ The Inhabitants of the Township of Wantage Due Agree te Pay $35 to Any Person of the Township of Wantage for Killing a Wolf In said Township, or starting It in said Township and Killing it Any place between the green Mountains and Louisiany. ”
