Union Township Items.

Roads muddy. Herds all gone. Health good at present. Weatherl oh, what weather! Cattle not doing very well at present on account of the heavy mast. William Cooper boughia nice bunch of yearling and two-year old steers in Porter county lately. A literary and debating society was organized at the Pleasant Valley school house last Friday evening. The Normal at Brushwood proved to be a failure. On Tuesday it adjourned sine die. Alter & Brother wilj move their mill to Barkley township soon. The Jasper City literary and debating society will soon reorganize at the Gant school house. May it be as successful in the future as in the past, is our earnest wish. The Keenerits like to boast of theii crops when they come to Union. In our opinion Keener is about us productive as Mount Shasta of the Sierra Nevada. Teachers have been selected for all the schools in this township, except the Harrington. Let some live teacher with a twelve or eighteen months license apply for it. What is the matter with Reporter? We should like to see Keener represented in the Sentinel twice a month, if not oftener. We entertain an interest in the welfare of our Keener brethren.
