Jesse, son'of John Lefler, died at the residence of Thomas Peregrine, in Hanging Grove Township, Wednesday morning, of lung disease. He has been an invalid for more than a year,, and all was done for him that a kind father and loving kindred co’cl do, but death claimed hirn and released him from, suffering.
Jesse Miller had his foot and leg pretty badly crushed, at .Delphi* Thursday of last week; William A Johns, his hand crushed, at Lowell, Tuesday, and John Gillaspie is suffering from a mashed finger. Terrible Accident— Nelson Brown, a stock man, from Rensselaer. Jasper county, Ind , was the victim of a severe accident yesterday morning about 7 o’clock. At that hour he was eomiog in with a car of stock on the Lake Shore road. He jumped from the train at Forty-second and Root streets, and falling down, engine No. 11, which was backing up, ran over his foot, and also bruised his head some what. He was picked up by Officer Muleahey of-the town of Lake, and carried into a house at the corner of Butterfield street, where he was attended by Dr. Hurst, The physician’s opinion was that the foot must be amputated, The toes were all cut off.— [lnter-Ocean, Aug. 18th. j It seems that in addition to the above reported injuries, three ribs were broken, one of them forced into the lung. It is said that he was allowed to lie for hours without atten tion, and was robbed of all eis money. He has since died from his injuries
