We hear of a number of other cows that have become blind of an eye. The cause is a mystery.
Captain A*ft, James Graves, John Veach and TTpton Schaub, of Morocco, wer ■in Rensselaer, Tuesday. We understand Mr. Schaub says if he can procure a room he will launch out in the merchant tailoring business nud employ 12 or 14 hands.
Every effort is being made by .the officers of the Jasper county Agricultural and Mechanical Association to have the coming fair excel all others heretofore held at this place. Ti e reduction in entry fees and tho increase in premiums offered will have a good tendency to stir up competition.
The members of the executive committee of the old settlers of Jasper and Newton counties, are requested to meet at Frauk W. Babcock's office> in Reusselaer. on Saturday, the 13th inst., at 10 o’clock, a. m., to arrange for the annual re-union. The members of the advisory committee are ail invited to be present.
