Spencer & Co., and Tutuer Bros., are being repainted.** S. P. Thompson, Esq., attended the funeral of Ex Senator Lane, Monday, nt Crawfordsville. Mr. John Makeever showed us the other day a fine article of home-made elder-berry cider—l 6 years old. _ D. E, Carr, the clever young conductor on our road, we understand did the square thing by the Rensselaer Knights visiting Lafayette. Mr S. E. Woods has lais new meat market in good running order. From the sample of steak he presented us the other day he is evidently a good judge of beef. Mr. John Coen left on our table the other day two varieties of strawberries, the largest and most luscious we have yet seen. He wiil be prepared to supply plants from his nursery in due season.
The postmaster general has designated the post office at Rensselaer as an international money order office, where orders are written payable in Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Algeria and Canada. This order goes into effect on Friday next, July Ist. Kingsbury & Peck have obtained the agency for the sale of Grove’s Pacific Continuous Drain Tile Machine, in the counties of Jasper and While. With this machine two men and one boy can make and lav from 1.500 to 2000 feet in a day. The machine wii be on exhibition at Rensselaer. Sat urday, July 2d, 1881. F.irm right given and machine sold. They are also general agents for the sale of Wray’s Artificial Compound for the manufacture of Marble and Building Stone and Concrete Pavement. County and township rights for sals.
