Little Jimmy is laid up wath measles and sutlers a great deal, but when he was asked how he liked the measles I be brightened up and exclaimed: “The ! doctor says I can’t go to school for a week. That’s how I like it.” 4 Ehrich Bros., of Eighth Avenue, New York, are out betimes with the New Premium List, of Ehriohs’Fash* jON Quarterly for 1881; and it is astonishing to see what ample induce meats they are able to offer to canvassers. Their system of combination subscriptions and subscription premiums is highly ingenious, and renders it possible for an energetic canvasser to obtain a handsome cash remuneration lor his or her iabtJß
Among the new premiums are some very beautiful illuminated Scripture Tabletsand Cards, which will be preciated by all interested iu Sunday School and Church work. Accompanying the Premium List Is an interesting pamphlet entitled “Shopping iu New York,” which gives an animated dercription of the system and economy of a great New York store, as well as an fllustrated price list of a host of articles of general necessity, which mav be ordered by mail or express. A genuine novelty, introduced for the first time in this pamphlet, is the system of furnishing unmade dresses in certain
styles, of which illustrations are given. For a fixed price, the purchaser receives the pattern and the entirs material for making up, including lining, sewing silk, buttons, and, i short, everything but the needle and thiin-jle. The advantage of this system, to a lady who wishes to do her own sewing, is obvious.
