Obituary.

Mary M. Bedford died at the residence of Mrs. Fred W. Cole, Sr. at 6:30 P. M. November 30th, 1880. Her maiden name was Mary M. Scott. She was born August 9lh, 1798, at Flemingsburg, Kentucky, and was a niece of Major General Winfield Scott of the U. S. army. She was a widow of Captain Elias Bedford, one of the heroes of the war of 1812, wiio distinguished himself at the bailie of Lundy’s Lane and Bridgewater, in both of which engagements he was severely wounded. She was the mother of eight children; of whom Fitz W. Bedford, Mrs. Fred W,.Cole,Sr., and Mrs. John P. Warner are residents of Rensselaer The remains were taken to LaFayettte for burial.
