The teachers of Jasper county will mc.tt at the court house in Rensselaer, Thursday and Friday, September 2nd and ”rd, 1880. Every true teacher is earnestly requested to be present. The following is the programme adopted by the executive committee : 1. Mr. Hooper (Principal- of Rensselaer Schools) —Graded Schools. 2. C. P. Mitchell—Character and Influence of the Teacher. H. Miss M. P. Hides and L. S. Alter— Discussion. Subject: Is lovo of school work productive of greater results than consciencious performance of duty? Affirmative, Miss Boles. Negative, Mr. Alter. 4. D. M. Nelson—Normal Schools. 5. G. W. Allen—Teaching as a Profession. G. D. B. Nowels—County Superintcndency. 7. Leo E. Gla/.ebrook—The Teacher as a Politician. 8. E. It.
