At Remington the Saturday before, thirtylive would-be teachers presented themselves to give a reason for the faith that is in them. When so many are aspiring to positions in our schools it furnishes school officeis an excellent opportunity to choose from them all the fittest and the best. There is and will ever be a demand for more competant instruction and it speaks well for the teachers of Jasper county to be

able to say that they are striving to supply this demand. The motto of many brave, true teachers of old Jasper to-day is “Excelsior.”
