Prison Director Hoover is in town to-duy. The infant daughter of John ZitnmermaQ died to day. Prof. Pierce is progressing fioely with his Institute of Penmanship. A child ol Lewis Davisson, of Bark’ley township, died last Wednesday of typhoid fever. Commissioner Price and lady are visiting Clerk Charles H. Price, their eldest hoperul. The Northern Piison will be turned over to the new management next Wednesday. The self supporting roof on Wifley & Sigler’s opera house is being oreeted by contractor Longshore. F. R. Donnelly, of Remington, was in town last Saturday, and T. R. Barker, of Newton county, on yesterday. The Jasper county Temperance Union wfll meet at the 1 M. E. Coen were married at tlie residence of the bride’s father, Mr. John Wednesday morning, by Eld. B. F. Furgusou. Rend an extract from the speech of Hon. D. W, Voorhees, delivered at Hamilton, Ohio. Will B. Hoover, editor of the Mondeello Democrat, died at the residence of his father, Dr. Rob’t Hoover, in Burnettsville, White county, lud., fast Sunday evening. The MonticeLlo Herald suys “On Monday afternoon at p. m., an autopsy was made upon the remains of Win. Hoover, by Drs. Clark & Treacy, of Mouticello, by request of Dr. Hoover, at the doctor’s residence in Burnettsville. A thorough examination of all the orguns of the thorax and abdomen was made. The heart and lungs werenormal and presented a healthy appearance' Theright-kiduey was enormously enlarged, and on cutting into it was found to be softened, and near the pelvis, (or body of kidney) severui- small abscesses were found containing pus. The left kidney was of nearly normal size; on the surface there were some 60 small ulcerated points, showing tim existence of suppurative nephritis. Oq cutting into the bladder it was found very much denuded of mucus membrane. At lbe fundus of the bladder, was found an enormous stone weighing 2 ounces and 5 drachms, which was lying in a sac formed by the mucus ooat of the bladder. Mr. Hoover was pessessed of a very sensitive nervous organiza lion, and on Sunday evening had a very severe spasm of pain, and having exerted himself more than his weakened constitution could stand, and died from the shock thus caused.” Will was about 28 years old. He entered our office, in Mouticello, as un apprentice, in 1868, remaining but a few mouths, when he waß induced to go to Frankfort, Clinton couaty, Ind. He was connected with, foe Logausport Journal for sometime ns solicitor and reporter, and about two years ago assumed management of the Monticello Democrat. He was buried Tuesday forenoon at Burnettsville. by the Eel River Lodge of I. O. O. F., of which he was a member at Loganaporr
