No Use.— A number of those to whom he Union is gratuitously sent are commenting upon it. One said in our hearing a few days ago, that when he wanted it, he could pay for it. A radical to whom it was sent remarked that he had always cast a republican vote, but if the Union was sent much longer he’d be sure to vote the democratic or national ticket, that col ideally the consul was anything that paid. Gen. Harrison accuses the democratic party of inconsistency on the financial question. The general perhaps faila to remember that the republican party, which now favors contraction and resumption, was yelling for infiationbut four years ago, a will be seen from the following plank in the state republican platform of 1874. Resolved: That we are in favor of such legislation on questions of finance as shall make national banking free, and shall furnish the country with such an additional amount, of currency as will be necessary to meet the wants of the agricultural, industrial and commercial interests of the country, to be distributed between the sections according to population, and such as is consistent with the credit and honor of the nation, and will avoid the possibility of permitting capitalists and combinations of capital from controling the currency of the country.
