(Concluded.) For the purpose of raising a Tevenue to defray the expenses of the county for the ensuing year it Was or* dered that the sum of 84c on each SIOO of taxable property hi the county be assessed for county revenue proper: and the sum of lc. on each SIOO for redemption of outstanding conuty bonds and lc on each SIOO to pay the iuterest of said bonds. The levies of the several townships as made by the trustees were, after having beeu modified by the Board, approved. The following places were designated for holding elections in the several townships, viz: Hanging Grove twp—Banta School Ho’ise. Gi,lam—Center school house No. 3. Walker—School house No. 2. Barkley—Center school house. Marion—Sheriff’s office, in. court house. Jordan —School house No. 1. Newton Sayler’s school house No. 1 Keener—Center school house. Kankakee—School house No. 2. Wheatfleld—Center school house No. 8. Carpenter—Town Hall, Remington. Milroy—School house No. 1. Union--Brushwood school house, No. 1. Thr accounts of Messrs. Simon P. Thompson, M. F. Chilcote and Ralph Fendig, School Trustees of Renssel uer, were examined and approved. Wm. H. Tyler, Trastee of Keener township, having been previously authorized by the Board, reported that he had entered into a contract with Thomas Antrim, M. D., to furnish medical aid to the poor of said township at a compensation of SSO per aouunj, payable in quarterly instalments Contract approved. The report of Ralph Fendig, whose term of office us School Trustee and Treasurer ot the school funds of ltensseluer, had exnired, was examined, approved and settlement ordered accordingly. In the matter of A. H. Fairchild et al, petitioners for a ditch in Keener township, it appearing that the notice heretofore given was defective, it was ordered that further notiee be given of the pendohoy of said petition and was set for hearing on Monday the first day of the next Sept, session. In the matter of the petition ol Alcida W. Yan’tWoud and Lena Hansen, and Aleida W. Vuu’t-Woud et al for ditches in Keener township, the reports of the viewers were approved and it was or .ered that said viewers again proceed and make a full and fair estimate of the cost of said work, &c., and report to the Auditor as soon as practicable. It was ordered that a levy of one por centum ou each SIOO of the taxable property in Newton township be made and extended upon the tax duplicate of said township for the year 1878, for aid in construction of the I. D. & C. RR. Ordered that the Auditor advertise iu lieusselaei Union for bids for construction of a frame building on the poor farm, bids to be opened on the 23d of July, 1878, at 1 o’clock, p. m., when the Board will meet in special session. - The change of road petitioned for by N. D. Ingerham et al, on which action was suspended until satisfactory evidence should be given that the new road was as good as the old. Change granted. Width 50 feet. Petition of H. Kean and Elisha Norton lor establishment of road in Jordan township. Shown that road had been in use more than twenty years. Declared public highway. Width 30 feet. Petition of Jacob Haan et al for a highway in Keener township. Viewers reported favorably, and road es tablished—width 60 feet. Petition of Simon P. Thompson et al for a highway in Union township. Holdridge Clark, Wm. Daniels and George Kessler appointed viewers. Petition of Lewis Rich et al for a highway in Wheatfleld township. W. D. Vau’t-Woud, Asa Tyler and Jos. P. Fairchild appointed viewers. change of highway inJJnion township. Viewers reported favorably, road established, width 60 feet. Petition of Geo. W. Burke et al for location of highway in Marion and Union townships. Reviewers assessed damages of S9B 00 in favor of Mercy P. Nowels. When petitioners pay said damages road to be established —width 60 feet. Petition ol John H. Pruett et al for a highway iu Gillam township. Geo. M. Jolinsou, Chas. Mayhew and Jos. M. Parkison, appointed viewers. Petition of James Culp et al for a highway ou county line between Pulaski and Jasper counties. Addison Parkison appointed commissioner on part of Jasper county to meet Jno. G. Boyles, commissioner on part of Pulaski county, at the house of James C. C ulp, on July 25th, 1878, at 2 p. m., proceed to examine route and report to the Boerd of Commissioners of Pulaski und Jasper at their next session. Petition of John Makeever et al for a change of road in Newton township. Reviewers assess damages $47 50 in favor of Jared Benjamin. Amount paid into eouuty treasury. Road ordered established, width 60 feet, and old road ordered vacated. Ordered also that remonstrants pay cost of other viewers. Petition of Thos. M. Jones et al for a highway in Kankakee township.— Board refuse to take jurisdiction, the petition and notice not properly setting forth the names of land owners.
