Jasper County Normal Institute.
Teachers and other interested parties are notified that a Normal Institute will be opeued iu the Rensselaer public school building, July 29. 1878, | and closing with the annual county! institute, August 30, under the in- i . I struction and management of Prof. ! G. W. Allen, principal of the Rens- j selaer schools, A Beery, a graduate of j the Central Indiana Normal School and County Superintendent J. H. , Snoddy. Assurance has already been j received of an attendance of over a ■ hundred pupils, and it Is confidently ! expected that this will be more than realized. Other competent instructors will be secured if needed. Instruction will be given in all the common school branches—zoology, mental philosophy applied to educational methods, and the theory and practice of teaching. Arrangements will be made for board at reasonable rates, and facilities for those desiring to board themselves, at a greatly reduced outlay, will also be presented. Large sums of money are annually paid by the citizens of Jasper county for the education of her teachers and pupils in other localities, where the facilities are no better than those offered by the Jasper county Normal. Let this money be kept at home, and let this effort tending toward the establishment of a permanent institution for the education of our teachers and the culture of our youth, be properly sustained by all parties truly interested in the educational progress of our county. “Lawson’s Curative,” which is advertised in our columns has a deser' - ed reputation gained by actual merit. We know of no remedy which hasaequired such a hold in the estimation of the people, for the simple reason that the medicine is what it is reprosented to be, a cure for Rheumatism, Neuralgia, and Nervous Diseases.
