The British colonies are not always self-supporting; the British exchequer pays nearly $1,000,000 a year to the aßcotfnt of Bermuda, $400,000 for Jamaica, $112,000 for the Bahamas, $50,000 for Honduras, and $750,000 for the other West India islands.
