A Terrible Ride.
A tramp who was stealing a ride in an empty car the other night, on the Erie road, attempted to jump off at Oxford. A hook on the side ot the car, used for fastening the door, caught the unlucky fellow’s clothing at the waist and suspended him in mid-air. The train dashed on and he was carried to Greycourt, three miles distant, when some one saw liim, stopped the train immediately, and the man was taken from his very dangerous position. There was not a scratch on his person, but the mental suffering he had endured, expecting momentarily to be dashed to pieces, completely oyercame him,
