Ever since the attempts to seme the remains of Abraham Lincoln from the sepulcher at Springfield, HI., last year, persons in charge of Mount Vernon have feared some a. tempt would be made to steal Washington’s coffin, and have lately connected the tomb with the residence on the grounds by a burglar alarm.
