At a public meeting held at the court house in Rensselaer, on Wednesday afternoon, February 6th, 1878, for the purpose of making ermngemenLß for the formal opening of the L, D. A C. R. R., A. McCoy was elected president, and C. A. Edmonds secretary. A conmrittee consisting of B. 8. Dwiggins, Capt. Wasson,. H. E James, Mrs. F. J. Sears and Mrs. J. D. Hopkins was appointed to prepare a programme of exercises, and reported the following, which was adopted. Ist. Organization at 10 o’clock ». m. 2d. Oration. •d. Song. 4th. Public dinner. 4th. Toaste end responses, music, songs, etc,, etc. The exercises will be conducted under the supervision of Alfred Thompson, general manager, and a corps of able assircants. The following committees will arrange matters pertaining to the celebration : Invitations. — General manager and aasuemts. Reception.—D. B. Miller, William Warren and C. B. Steward. Orators.—Hon.
