An Occidental Guest.
“ Has Mr. Flood called to see me this afternoon?” said a rather “off ” looking stranger as he registered his name at the (Accidental the other day. “No, sir,” said the clerk. ‘‘Ah ! Well, if Sharon comes in, say Mr. Glnckerson can’t dine with him until to-morrow.” “Certainly, sir.” “Give me the best suite in the house,” continued the stranger, thoughtfully, after which he changed a 8100 greenback, inquired the way to Gov. Stanford’s, and left for a walk before dinner. The bill can be purchased for 10 per cent, at the house. It is a really excellent counterfeit, and can be readily passed again in the country.— San Francisco News-Letter.
