Immediately after dinner efforts were made to climb the greased pole until the hour for calling together the. assemblage. At the conclusion of the afternoon exorcises the wheelbarrow, foot, and sack races, parade of the mardi-gras, catching the greas°d pig, and climbing the greased pole came off. a much larger number Moe in attendance than was anticipated, and •everything passed off j pleasantly and satisfactorily.
