GREAT EVENT Rathbone Sisters Institute Lodge at Berne-Good Time. The Rathbone Sisters. who went to Berne yesterday to institute a lodge returned this morning tired *nd worn out, but still very en thusiastic over their succss and state that they were royally en tertained, by their southern friends Vfrs Laura Smith of Marion [dis rriot, deputy grand chief, and Mias Cora Hood of Ossian, grand mis tress of records and correspondence, were present to see that th* work was carried out as it should be, and congratulated tn* local team up< n their good work. Twenty five la dies were initiated and Berne starts iff with a moat successful looking lodge The entire degree work was give by the Decatur lodge, and everything worked smoothly. As ter the degree work a '.fine banquet was served and the time made merry until train time.

A jury in Jthe WabMh circuit court yesterday gave Clark Diniu*. a ’Chicago and Erie brakesman damages of 17,350 against the Erie and Clover Leaf road* While employed on the Erie as a tram tna n Dinina, the plaintiff, was in jured at Ohio City, Ohio, where the Clover Leaf and Erie railroad* have aide tracks on the name road bed. Several years ago the two railroads disputed as to which one was under obligations to properly ballast this joint road bed. While this dispute was being earned on between the two roads, Dinins, as a regular switchman, was doing some switching on the side track when he fell by reason of the bad condition of the road bed and a oar was naoked upon him before he could crawl from the track. His left foot was out off and his right hip was dislocated. Suit for |15,0C0 damages against the Erie railroad followed soon and later tne Clover Leaf was made a party _to the de sense,

At 11:30 o’clock Monday the plaintiff rested in rebuttal in the Moyer Glendenning oil case and the court adjourned until afternoon at 1 30 o'clock, when the argument was taken up. The ooart has allowed the attorney* four hour* on a side for thi*. which was l begun Monday afternoon, of the con ven ing of Jcourt. Thi* will run the ease until some time Tuesday, It .is hoped that it can be given the i jury sometime during the after ' noon The defense will have a larger 'numl>er of interrogatories which it will ask the court to submit to the jury, along with his instructions.
