Personally 1 have a very high re ! gard for Mr. Goodrich, in fact, my fight had not been against i him personally but for myself and against the policy adopted by him in conducting a campaign I have Contended that it was bad p*rty policy to keep the same man ta the head of the committee tor more than two campaigns. I have contended also that the state committee should not endeavor to control the nominations fur state brers and that it should not control the election of senators. The guests were entertained with music and games Miss Marguerite Bnghes served refreshments dur ing the Mrs Coverdale and ohiildren will leave in a few days for Arkansas, where they will make their future home. Mr. Coverdale has located a shingle factory at that place and they will make that their home for the present. Last night's affair was delightful and will long be [remembered by th.se present. DIRECTORS MET Premium Lists Revised and Increased Great Northern Fair Officers in session - A New Feature for the Young People. A meeting of the directors of the Great Northern Indiana Fair association was held at Sheriff Butler, s office in this city this morning Twenty one of the twenty font directors were present and each seemed to take active interest in completing the early prliminaries for the best fair ever given here President Trioker and vice president M L. Smith were among the absent and oonse oueutly Harry Grove was chosen to preside The meeting was fcr the purpose of hearing reports on the revision of the premium list. This was done and the reports all accept ed with a few oases The premiums this year, will as heretofore, comp ise are with those offered at the best fairs in the country, and should encourage everyone to com pete l< r the prize. A new feature added is the offering for premiums to boys and girls between the ages of ten and eighteen for the best exhibit of corn, oats, pitatoes. bread, butter, fowls, etc. It is believed this will create interest among the young folks It is assured that this years fair is to be the best ever given in the county SUES RAILROAD Wren .Man Demands Payment for Loss of Stock. Oliver Sheets has sued the Chica go and Erie railroad company for two huudred and fifty-two dollar ' for the loss of two head of cattle and injuries to others shipped from Wren to Cincinnati. Mr Sheets petition recites that a car | load of cattle was consigned to the I company for shipment to Cincin nati, byway of the Cincinnati I Northern route, but tha defendants after permitting animals to remain on a side track for eighteen hours, carried them over some other rou*e and oiused an unreas onable delay in their arrival at the Cincinnati market. d’uat two of the animals were missing and the others were bruised and otherwise damaged when they finally reached their destination —VanWert Bulletin. The presi dents' friends feel that if they vote down the resolution it will provoke more criticism throughout the country. Erwin, is quite ill at the Hope hospital, Fort Wayne Daniel N.
