He is home on a two months’ furlough.

His crop this year is estimated to measure about two thousand, five hundred bushels, which shows that Adams county potato raisers are not slow. Night Policeman Reynolds arrested a vile looking tramp last night on a charge of vagrancy. He was begging and annoying people generally. When arraigned before Mayor Coffee today he was fined #5 and costs, amounting to <13.50. He went to jail. MRS. JOHNSON DEAD Pioneer Ladv of County Answers the EnJ Ml. Mrs. Martha Johnson, a pioneer of this county, died at five o’clock this morning at her home two and one-half miles northwest of Monroe. She was seventy-eight years old, and death resulted from infirmities Her hnsiiand preceded her in death many years ago. She leaves to mourn their loss, three daughters, two sons and one step son. A day or two afterward he came back and accused the seller of cheating him and wanted him to take the cow back, but the old fellow refused, saying that I the ouyor had had his pick.
