Jl 11 I As the time fur the Grau N irth ern Indiana fair draws near a greater activity is noticeable among the local horsemen, and arguments as to the relative merits of the different animals now located at! Steele a park can be started very easily, as some one is always about who will champion the cause of one or the other animals, j Every morning and at tern-on the track is lined by the admirers of horseflesh who are desirous of gathering the latest speed developments. and the condition of the horses and jvery day several of the animals are sent ar and the track at a dizzy pace, much to j the amusement of the h rsemen and race followers. At present there is stabled at Steile's Park nine head of fast driving horses, all under the care and management of trainer Al Morgan, an old experienced horseman of Gnthene. Oklahoma.s who has at present 'gotten the animals in prime condition and ready for a grueling contest during the coming fair. Among this string of horses are several new ones and a num- ■ iier o< old ones and without doubt some of the young horses that are stationed at the park are doomed to break several speed records before the season is over “Santomcnt,” a seven year old! pacer, is one that his shown wonderful speed and will surprise even his closest admireres “A Dia mond in the Rough" is a young four year old picer that is show ing remarkable Jform during the ’ present workouts. The burglar effected an entrance into the house by cutting a piece of the wire screen from the door and crawling through No one heard him go in or out and the only evidenoe that someone was m the house is from the remains of a hurried lunch that he bad spread for himself on the dining room table. Obituary. Amanda E. Buhler was ixirn' February 15, 1*57. and departed this life August 7, 1905. aged 4* : years. 5 n on’hs and 22 days. She ! was married to Alek Harper tte first time, and to this union were i bjrn two children: a son, Ernest Earl and a daughter, Grace. The ■ laugh'er died in infancy. Tee i father and husbwd passed b°yond about five years ago. On the 19 of j March. 1903, she was united in marriage tc All>ert Buhler, who with his two daughters, Grace D and M. Mabie and her son, Ernest E»rl, remain to mourn her departure. She also leaves three brothers and five sisters. She was converted to God in early life and united with the M E church, of which she was a member when she died. Her Christian life was of the Bible kind, j With her church and her Lord held first place in her affections. Those who knew her bsst speak of her religious life in only the heat of praise. She was decidedlly a • doer of the word.’’ Her religion was of the practical, ev 9r y day. helpful kind She was very ready to help in sickness and never tired in assisting in any place where she could do good. She was a faithful member of the order of i Pocahontas. Among her favorite hymns were ’We’ll Never Say Good-by and’The Haven jfßeet.’’ To her all the scriptures were precious and it would be difficult to n»nni any favorite passage. As t‘ e time for her departure approached she scemtd more than usually hopeful and resigned. "The Lord’s will be done was her constant wish. She cast her anchors, they stood the test and her soul has entered i the haven of eternal rest.
