Miss Kiltie Stevenson left for Bluffton today, for a visit with friends Dick Van till itirg arrived today from Willshire, and in a guest of bis family. Marion Smith arrived today from Midland, Mich., and is a guest of tip parents. Miss Springer returned to Rookford.O today, after a visit in this city, hb a guest of Mr. and Mrs 1 Fred Tague. Joe Heffner arrived last evening from Fort Recovery, Ohio, and is a guest of relatives. Dee Lewton stepped on a nail last evening with his tight foot, and is suffering much pain. Dr. Harris returned to Fort 1 Wayne, last evening. While here he was a guest of his mother. E A. Mann, James Thompson and Charles Christen made a business trip to Hoagland this morning. Mrs. John Kern and daughter went to Benton Harbor, this morning. to visit for several weeks with friends. Mrs. L. E. Wagner went to P e itoskey, Mich., this morning, where she expects to spend the remainder , of the summer. Mrs. D. A. Knott returned this morning to her home at Plymouth While here she was the guest of D. E. Soott and family. A number of the ball team spent the afternoon at the park getting themselves in trim for next Sunday's game, which will be played with the Marion independents. The game at Steele s park Sunday between Marion and the Roe'enthals promises to be a battle royal. as Marion has strengthened her team and are expecting to land a | victorv. The Rosenthals are just a* determined that their jieroentage column shall not lie broken and are eager for a fast contest. Maynard France, whose place of business was jburned ou July Ith, informed us that the insurance adjusters had been her e and that he had made a full and complete settlement which was satisfactory in every respect, and he is now en- . gaged in cleaning up so as to be ready to resume business. Mri. J. W. Wendell, of Bluffton, passed through the city this afternoon enroute to Geneva, where she is a guest of Mrs. Kimble. Henry Reinking, who was injured several weeks ago, by liecom ing entangled in a runaway, while assisting in storing hay, is able to be up and around again, and soon lie himself. A surprise party was held on Mias Celeste Wemhoff last evening in honor of her sixteenth birthday. The crowd was composed of six teen young ladies, and an most enjoyable evening was spent. Samuel Doak, through Attorney J. F. Snow filed a suit in the circuit court this afternoon asking partition of certain Decatur property owned as tenants in common with John 8. Dent and others. Evangelist W. B. Cullies will give the second lecture on dispensational truth, Friday night. Tipio: “The Times of the Gentiles.” Illustrated with large diagrams. Friday night, 7:30, lecture room of Presbyterian church. All invited. Bring a bible. A party composed of Charles Ernst. Will Schrock, John Yager. Ora France, Dee Lewton, Frank Burns, Earl Coverdale, Mose Krohn, John Peterson, A. P. Beattv, Frank Wemhoff, Roman Holthouse and John Moran, went to Geneva i this afternoon, where they were in attendance at the game of ball between the Geneva team and the Dunkirk Speciale. Take a drive and attend the ice cream social, 4% miles southwest of Willshire, and just east of Salem school house grove, Saturday evening, July 15. The Willshire cornet band will lie present, which assures a plenty of good music. This social will afford you an opportunity to spend a pleasant evening in the country. There will be a stand on the ground where all kinds of soft drinks will be sold, ice cold. There will be entertainment for all. WILL MOVE Nathan Ayers, of Pleasant -Mills, is home from Detroit, Michigan, where he has been for a month settling up the estate of his son, Ralph Ayers, who died six weeks ago at Gmnd Rapids. Ralph left 1’2,000 in life insurance, payable to his estate, and not having married, the money reverts to his par ents. Mr. Ayers is building a home at Dearborn, a suberb of Detroit, and will move there next fall. A Junior Jubilee. The juniors of the|U. B. church are planning _ for~a rollicking good time this (Thursday) evening, at the home of Howard Wisheaopt, corner Nutttn~n~venue and'seventh street. They willjhave charge of the entire lawn, where they will serve their friends with ice cream and cake, pap oofu and ,peanuts, ban bans and butfef scatch, lemonade and laoious fruit.
