Mrs. J. H. Hall left this morning for Findley, Ohio, being called there owing to the death of her father. Mr and Mrs. 0., Jones and daughter left for Fort Wayne this horning, to spend Sunday with relatives. Mrs L. Vandenburg of Brooklyn, N Y . passed through the city last evening enroute to Grand Rapids. Mich. Mrs. Stoner returned to Fort Wayne last evening, alter making a pleasant visit here with her sister, Mrs. L. T. Brokaw. Dick Burrel returned this morn ing from Fort Wayne, where he had driven a team of mules that were sold at the horse slae. Unclaimed letters are at the postoffice for Sam Hirsh. Mrs. Maggie Russell, Mrs. D. E. Suey, Minor Stahl, Miss Leretta Hoffman. Mrs. Theodore Kennedy has returned from Madison. Ind.', where she attended as a delegate the W. R C. convention. She enjoyed the trip and was royally entertained while gone. Invitations are out announcing that the local Pathfinders' lodge will on next Tuesday evening, give a Soxsocial for the benefit of the lodge The event will lie held over the Winnes shoe store. A numbor of invitations have been received here for a society wedding at Fort Wajne on Thursday, June 2»th, at four o’clock in the afternoon The contracting parties are Miss Louisa Elizabeth Elser and Mr Henry Alford Gable, Ixith of whom are quite well known here. The ceremony will occur at the Be’hel Evangelical church, an d a reception at the home of the bride’s aunt, Mrs Catherine Hettier, 822 East Dewaid street, will follow immediately.

Nachtrieb will leave tomorrow morning for an extended visit with her prrents at Newark. Ohio. Charles Christen presented a set of plans to the German Lntl.eran church for the construction of a new sonool house. Mrs. J. D. Kern and babe and Mrs. H- E. Dexter went to Fort Wayne this morning to spend a week with friends. Otto Ryf, the bright young editor of the Berne News, was here today on his way to Toledo, where he will spend Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Voglewede returned last evening from their honeymoon trip to Niagara Falls, and will be at home in a short time no Sixth street to their many friends. C. D. Kunkle announces that the fair premium books are out and those desiring one may have same by sending their name and address to C. D. Kunkle. Monmouth, Ind. Mrs. Hugh M Kapp is arranging to leave July first fur an extended trip in the west. She will be accompanied as far as St. Louis by Mr. Kapp and from there she will go to Portland, Oregon, where she will be met by her sister, Mrs. Mabel Dills, of Pomona, Cal, and together they will take in the Lewis-Clark exposition. From Portland the two sisters will go to San Francisco and to Los Angeles, and will go from the latter pH nt to Ocean Park, to spend three months with their mother Mrs. Kapp will be gone until October. —Bluffton News.

C., where she expects to spend the balance of the summer. Fred Reppert, the auctioneer, is preparing to build a new house in a short time. The plans were drawn by Charles Christian. Several complaints have reached Mayor Coffee from property owners in the West End, concerning the fact that boys who are driving cows to pasture are not careful enough in keeping them on the public highway, but permit them to run at large across lawns and gardens, thus destroying them. This practice the mdyor states, must cease or prosecutions may follow. A word to the wise in some instances is sufficient. Immediateely after his wife had been granted a divorce in the superior court yesterday, Dr. J. W. Younge made public announcement that next Friday he would be married to Miss Iva Rhea, of Clinton county, who, the doctor says, is the prettiest girl in Indiana. She is the daughter of the wealthiest land owner in Clinton county, is twenty-two years of age, and very accomplished. Dr. Younge says she has been in Chicago for some time preparing her troussea u. The doctor has engaged a box for himself and his bride for the Mar-lowe-Southern engagement at the Majestic next week.—Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette.
