THEY ORGANIZE Saloon Men of District Met at Muncie Carley Ratitmachcr Ont of the Trustees of the Association—Will Meet Again April Sixth. Muncie Ind.. March 24.—The retail liquor dealer* us Ute Eighth congressional district held a meeting in Muncie yesterday and former a permanent organization to work for their mutual benefit in the future. The followin, officers were elected; Charles G -innup, Muncie, president; Thomas Cotrell, Anderson, vice president; 'George Davis, Muncie, secretary; G. R. Andrews, Mancie, teasurer. The trustees are J. C. Griesbeuner, D laware county BinSybJrt, M idison county; John McCoy, Jay County; D. F Erwin. Randolph county and C. Rademacher, Adams county. Aside from perfecting a permanent organization very little was accomplished. but another meeting will be held in Muncie April 6. The new laws affecting the liquor business were not discussed but will be at the next session, it is said. About 100 saloonkeepers were present, every County in the district being well iepresented with the exception of Wells. Phillip Heise, of Indianapolis, general state organizer of the sta*e liquor dealers. wa< present and made an address.

DENIES IT Dee DeVinney Here From Dallas Aimlts Jumping Iht League But San Me Ma’, None of Their Property. Dee De Vinner, concerning whom a telegram had been receive! by C O. France from Dallas, Texas, stating that DeVinney had “jumped" the team and taken with him a coat, stockings and cap, the property of the Dallas Ball team, arrived home last evening. and is at presen’ with his parents in the south part of the city. Dee denies the latter part of the telegram concerning his appropriating the club's property, and states that he has not the same in his possession and declares that the goods claimed to have been taken K y him were taken by another member of the team, who is still in Dallas. As to “jumping" the team he does not deny, as he claims that the man agement would not advance him any money, and that the first pay day did not arrive until April 15, and that he did not car* to take at.y chances of getting his money, as reports were being circulated in baseball circles in the South that rhe league would not pull through the season Dee further states that a number of the candidates for the team are pre]>anng to leave and that in his opinion. Ruling and Farrell are among them and will soon ieturn to this city. Dee claims to like the south, but does not like the way thev m inage bi-«eball teams. MAKING PLANS Indiana Editors Arrange for Mid-Sammer . Meetlnf. Wiilinm Jennings Bryan is to be the principal attractAon at the annual summer meeting of the Indi ana Democratic Eiitorial ass Tia tion. Officers of the organization, ' upon extending him an invitation to attend, received a reply suffi ciently encouraging to warrant the calling of a meeting of the executive com mi tee at the Grand Hotel yesterday afternoon. Usually the meeting is held in June, but Mr. Bryan has said that the second week in July wou'd be more acceptable to him. The annual meeting will be held at French Lick this year and will last two days. For four days following the members and their wives will enjoy a trip on the Kentucky river on the boat “The Falls City.” Dr. G. W. Lawrenoe, manager of the Kentucky River Packet company, met with the executive committee yesterday and completed arrangements for the trjp. Other democrats of wide reputation besides Bryan will be invited to deliver addresses at the two days' meeting at French Lick. , The program will be in the hand* ; of the executive committee.
