The remains of Al f uhrman, who died yesterday in Arizona, will reach this city M onday morning. Matt Schafer bus fixed up his place on Madison street and is now ready to again greet his customers. H. Williams returned to Fort Wayne this morning, after attending to business interests in this city. Ed Meyers left the city this morn* ing for Fort Wayne, where he attended to important business mat ters. Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Allison left the city last evening for Chicago, where they are the guests of reintires. Miss Whiteleather returned to Van Wert today, after being in the city for a few days, a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Wash Gilpin and daughter, Leota. Frank Miller this morning resigned his position with A Van Camp, at the Oak Roller mills. He has not decided what vocation he will follor.. John Smith's smiling face may now be se>n behind the counters of Brown & Co's Monroe street meat market, he having yesterday purchased h .ls interest in the establishment. Mr. and Mrs. D. V. Steele returned to the city today from Fort Wayne, where they had been in at (enhance at the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. George Muldhtm. Mrs. Middleton *is Mrs. Steele’s mother. Mrs. Frank Durkins, Miss Kittie Christen and Mr. and Mrs. T C. Corbett went to Fort Wayne this morning. They returned to the city with the remains of Frank Durkins, who died at the St. Joseph hospital, at that place this morning.

Bill posters were busy t<aay hanging paper for the "King of Tramps’’ show, which will be at Bosxes's Monday. Henry Holbroke is quite ill at his home, corner Monroe and Third streets. He has been confined at his home for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Bly returned to Fort Wayne last evening, after being in the city tor several weeks, the guests of friends and relatives. Mrs. Sweet returned to her home in Hoagland last evening, after spending a few days in the city the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Farrell. Mr. and Mrs. William Chronister are the proud and hippy parents of a baby girl, which made its appearance at their home last evening. Both mether and babe doing nicely. The condition of Louis Holthouse, who has been sick with lung fever for some time, vias reported today as lieing very serious. The funeral of Herman Eichoff. nine-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs Chris Eichoff was held at the Friedheim church yesterday [afternoon. The children of Herman’s class in school donated a very beautiful floral collection Interment was made at Freidheim cemetery.

NO PLAY HOUSE Children Should Not Visit Citi Plant Unless Accompanied. The committee of the city council request us to says that hereafter children will not be permitted to visit the city water and light plant unless aocotnpiniod by an adult. For some time, particularly on Bundays, the children have been using the plant for a playhouse, inconveniencing the employes. Besides the danger of some of them getting injured the’r running about causes 1 the constant raising of dust, which is harmful to the electric ma chinery. Free. Every customer of C. F. McCouley, representing the Indianapolis Fire Insurance company, of Indianapolis, is in the city. He settled the company’s loss on Bert Bliley’s stock and fixtures, which were destroyed in the Monroe lire n le v days ago, paying the policy in full—>7so. The Indianapolis is an Indiana company, and one of the best on earth. Gallog’.y & Haefling are Adams county agents. Representatives of Mann & Christen, the popular architects, yesterday received the job of building the new Boknecht bnilding, they being the lowest bidders. The new building will be a two story brick structure and will be modern in every design, as it will bo heated by steam heat throughout. It will be pnt up at onoe and will adjoin the present building owned by Chris at the rear. .
