Elmer Johnson and Abe Boch returned this morning from Pittsburg, Pa., where they were conducting a horse sale. Miss Wise, of Kenton, 0., who has been visiting in the city with Miss Joseph nie Niblick, left today for Cinc.nnati, where she will visit with Miss Shaw a few days, before returning to her home. A special agent for the German Fire Insurnttoe company of Indiana, together, with the local agent, Graham & Lower, were at Monroe yesterday, where they adjusted the Kellar Bros.’ fire loss, piying their p iliey in full. At the morning session of the Fort Wav ne District conference meeting Rev. Jay Dorwin of Fort Wayne, was elected secretary and Rev. Earl B. Parker, of Coesse, assistant secretary. The meeting is a good ’one and lots of interest is being shown A party of young folks consisting of Misses Jessie Cook, Alice Jackson, and Arbia Loch and Messrs. O. Godfrey Bell, Bruce Christen, and Grover Hoffman went to Berne last evening, and attended a party given by Miss Lachot. They report a fine time and several narrow escapes while enroute home. Miss Edna Ehinger entertained a number of her lady friends last evening at her heme at a guessing contest, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. The prizes were captured bv Misses May Holthouse and Rose Voglewedb and Mispes May Rademacher and Zuella Stults. Refreshments were served and at a late hour the guests departed voting Miss Edna a charming hostess. Last evening the Haymakers broke loose and had an evening of enjoyment. Four new candidates suffered and got the full benefit of the degree work. Much to the amusement of the onlookers. After conferring the work all members proceeded to White’s Case, where a fine banquet was served. The Haymakers organized a year and a half ago and since their ex isfenoe have paid out nearly seven hundred dollars in benefits to diff erent members of the organization. The lodge is in a thriving condition and are daily receiving applications for membership. A surprise p»rty on Miss Georgia B*erv in honor of her eleventh birthday was an event enjoyed immensely last evening, from three to six o’clock, by a number of her litle friends. The guests included Lucy Mclntosh, Maud Cawley, Lulu Atz, Kato Bremer kamp, Matilda Meyer, Opal Harruff, Francis Cole. Elith Miller, Esther Cook, Mary Erwin, Edna Segur, Ruth Buhler, Eflie Miller, Rosa Green, Katie Hart, Ural Hart, Glayds Graham. Bessie Drummond and Bertha Drummond.
