The funeral services of Mrs John Breiner were held this afternoon at two o’clock at the Preble Lutheran church, a large crowd being in attendance to pay their last respects to the decaased. The services were conducted by Rev. Klausing. Interment was made in the Preble cemetery. A Vincennes saloon keejier is having a bill prepared which in his esti mation would prove ago xi thing. ARM SPRAINED Will Winnes Almost Looses an Arm In a Linndrv Machine. Will Winnes, who is employed at the Decatur Steam Laundry as a washer and ironer, met with an accident that nearly cost him his right arm. He was arranging some clothes in the washer preparatory to cleaning them, when in some manner his arm caught in one of the piddles, wrenching tho same badly liefore ho was able to get himself loose. The arm is black and blue and badly bruised from the wrist to the elbow and he will l»e unable to attend to his duties for B<«veral daya. WILL PROSECUTE Anderson Gas Company Fleeced by Smooth Citizens. The Citizens' Gas company of Anderson, proposes to prosecute hundreds of consumers who stole gas from it in January. The con sumers got the best of the oomjiany by removing tbe meters during the time intervening between the regu lar days of inspection and of course the gas they used was not measured. Some of Jthe dishonest consumers got onto the trick by ,which they could insert a wire in the me ter and thus prevent registration. A <lay,or two before inspection time the meters would l>e returned to j their usual state of efficiency and J the inspector would be none the wiser. When Judge Vaughn returned from a long conversation over the long distance telephone at ten o’clock this morning and ascended the judicial bench he was greeted bv twenty members of the bar rising to their feet and saluting him with bows and "Good morning, grandpa.” Judge Dailey, speaking for the bar, said, "We are informed, your honor, that one o t the greatest events in tbe history of humanityjhas taken place in your family and we war.t to extend our congratulations over tbe‘birth. 1 myself entered upon the joys ot grandp irentage some time ago and I know how your honor feels this morning.
