The policy for 11.800 on the life of the late George W. Bergman in favor of the daughter. Ethel Berg man was paid Tuesday to John W. Holmes, the guardian of the girl. Thia policy was carried in the Tribe of Ben Hur, one of the beat known of the fraternal insurance orders. Although at first contested on the grounds that the late Mr. Borgman Milwaukee ministers do not ask blushing brides to pledge them selves to “obey” their husbands. | They have out that out and simply ask them if they will “love and honor this man.” As a ru>e t’e blushing bride would be willing to promise most anything to the men of cloth, so that is probable that the omission of the one word from the ceremony makes little, if any, liffernoe in the subsequent oondcut of the wife. Marriage vows don't nut much figure after the dreams of vouth have passed away and the fewer there are the better.

"It is a well known fact that yarn kept continually and uniformly damp will sjiin tiner nnd softer than that drying out in the process of w wiving. Thousands of dollars have been s|>ent by our weavers in appliances to keep their shops uniformly humid, but thus far without success. The line quality of panama hats, for instance, if tiie straw were not kept damp while the process of weaving is on. could not lie produced. The straw is not worked under water, as many suppose, but is kept uniformly damp by being worked in the early morning hours when a heavy dew is falling."- Milwankiv Sen tlnel. He Wanted That Wine.
