Whiat was played and Mr. Kuebler during the evening rendered some very fine vocal selections. A fine time was had by all present. The club ; will meet next Thursday evening with Miss Bertha Fnllenkamp The oldest living veteran of the civil war, William Walsh, of Akworth, N H., has had his pension increased from |!2 to per month. He is 105 years old, and in I writing to his representative Walsh says the older he gets the more he can apand. He says he needs the additional sl2 per month in order ( that he can live incomfcrtand have I all the tobacco he can chew.

The Christian Endevors of the Presbyterian church hold their regular business meeting on Frida y evening at 7.30 Februarv 3- All members are requested to be pres ent and bring your friends. A pro gram is prepared and refreshments will be served. A small Decatur boy being told that a large stork had brought them a little sister for a present was asked if he wanted to see her. He studied a moment and replied that he didn't but he would like to see the stork. Last night was the coldest of the present winter, and today’s sun has failed to thaw it out to any great extent. The thermometer registered fifteen below zero at four o’clock this morning and ten below at seven o’clock. While we have heard some complaint, 'the [present snap is rather enjoyed by those who are fixed for it. Why this would have been considered a pleasant day last winter, if that's any comfort to you.
