Mrs. Clayton Stevens and Mrs. J. Curtis went to Winchester this morning to spend Thanskgiving. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Gillroy returned to Genova this morning. They were enroute from Bradford, Pa. Layfayette Rape, one of the prosperous Wabash township farmers, was looking after business here today. Miss Bowers returned last evening to her home at Toledo, after visiting several weeks here with Mrs. Crozier. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Watkins returned to Fort Wayne last eveninj, after making a pleasant visit with relatives ncur Pleasant Mills. Billy Adams, the globe trotter, known to every printing office in Inaiana, struck town yesterday and made everyone happy he met. Charles W. Broome and sister, Mrs. Halbert, of Bowling Green, Ohio, are the guests of John Burk and family. Mr. Broome is a printer and made this official a social call. “ All members of the local Pooohontas lodge are requested to be present at a meeting Thursday evening to assist in celebrating Thanksgiving day. Mrs. Coffee went 'to [Fort Wayne last evening to make a short visit with her sister, Mrs. Egan. B. F. Blosser went to Reading, Mioh., last evening to spend a week looking over Michigan land. The Bachelor Maids will meet to morrow evening with Miss Nettie Smith on South Mercer street. George McKean returned last evening from Geneva, where he 1 was.attending to otfioial duties. Louis Fuelling returned to Fort Wayne last evening, after visiting in this oity the guest of relatives. Jaems Harkless arrived today from Paulding, Ohio, and will spend Thanksgiving with relatives. Lawrence Waring was hero from Decatur to spend Sunday. His mitten faotory at Decatur is running steadily and he is doing a big business. — Bluffton News. Elijah Houk, a well known farmer, living about seven miles north of this city is very sick with spinal trouble which has effected the brain. It is said his reooverv is very doubtful. A.'J. Teeple, William Adler, Peter Holthouse, L. W. Lewton and Titus Ernst left last night for St. Louis, where they expeot to en joy life for a few days at least, taking in the sights at. the fair. Auditor elect Cary D. Lewton has received from the secretary of state his commission as auditor of Adams oountv. On January first the same will go into full force and effect, the term of Auditor Booh at that time being ended. Samuel Gilliand an inmate of the oounty farm, died yesterday morning, after an illness of several weeks’ duration, death resulting from a complication of diseases and old ago. He was seventy-five years old. The funeral services were held this afternoon at two o’clock at the county farm chapel and interment was made in the county cemetery.

A telegram was received by Michael Zehr, Friday, announcing ; the death of Miss Emma Schindler at Phoenix, Arizona. Miss Schindler went to Arizona less than a year ago in searoh of health, she having had an attack of consumption. The change of climate Drought her no relief, and she died of that disease last week. She was buried in Phoenix on Saturday. Miss Schindler was reared by Mr. and Mrs. John Zehr southwest of Berne.— Berne Witness.
