Eli Smith returned to Gas City to day, he was here attending the fair. Miss Emma Dierne of Avilla, is the guest of Miss Hattie Moore this week. Miss Goldie Henderson returned to Bluffton today, after a visit here with friends. Miss Dink Berry returned to Montpelier today, while here she was the guest of friends. Wade Meyers returned to Hartford City today, while here he was the guest of bis mother. Kev. Hunter Myers and returned to Upland today, after visiting here a few days with relatives.

Mrs. Baker returned to Gas City today, while here she was the guest of friends and attending the fair. Misses Myrtle and Mary Kizer returned to Linn Grove this morning, after a visit here with friends. Mr. and Mrs. C. Stoler returned this morning to Fort Wayne, after a visit here the guests of relatives. Mrs. Rhoads returned to Fort Wayne this morning, after spending a day with her husband in this city. Miss Baine returned to Goshen this morning, after visitng here for a short time with Miss Maggie Bremer kamp. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hart return ed to Fort Wayne this morning, after visiting here for' a few days with relatives. Misses Lima and Evelyn Walters and J. R. Wendt returned to Fort Wayne this morning, after a visit here with Miss Midge Smith. Chas. Crandal of Huntington, accompanied by J. P. Miller, the latter owner of Orme, the great St. Louis horse, called at the Democrat and “tipped” the working force to bet on Orme.

Mrs. Joe Heffner went to fort Wayne this morning t > visit for a short time with friends. Mrs. Ted Coburn and Miss Maude Coburn of Warren were the guests of Mrs. C. O. France, yesterday. Miss Estella Wemhoff returned to Fort Wayne this morning, after a visit with her parents in this city. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Selby.of Huntington, arrived this morning and are in attendance at the fair. Mrs McEwing returned to Fort Wayne this moroiug, while here she was the guest of Mrs. H. O. Bowserman.
Miss Veronica Brunnegraff left today forJMinster, Ohio,, where she will attend a wedding and will visit relatives for several weeks. There were thirty-three stallions fighting for premiums at the Great Northern Indiana Fair. Five flrss and one second premium were captured by Butler's famous Tampa and his get. Fred Mutchler has sold his farm three miles northwest of town, and will build a home just north of the city, where he has bought a small plat of land. He will hold a public sale next Thursday.
