DOING BUSINESS An Ohio Man Bought 12,000 Chicken in This County. C. H. Hudd and force of men of New Paris, Ohio, who scoured Adams county a few weeks ago buying up poultry, were busily engaged today in loading them into the oar as fast as they could be weighted. |*A continuous string of wagons and buggies were lined up from the C. &;E. railroad to the car alip boarded with chickens. This poultry will be shipped direct to New York. Mr. Hudd was paying a'fanoy price andj the farmers took advantage of the [good thing. Six thousand chickens were taken today and the same number will be taken in tomorrow.
AWARDED PRIZES Gus Rosenthal Gives a Contest for the Institute Members. A novel contest ,was given this week by Gus Rosenthal for the benefit of the teachers who are in the city. This enterprising merchant announced at Monday's session that each member of the in titute who would call at his store and | register name and number would reentited to a chance on a 1 set of reading circle books, a set to I be given to the lady and gentlemen holding the fifth number in two sejierate drawings. The event created quite a little interest and j Gus' store was crowded at 4:30 last evening when the drawing took J place.
