Parker, the Democratic nominee for president to be here one of the days of the fair to speak.—Journal. One of those cream colored invitations should also be sent to Roosevelt and Booker T. The announcement is made that Judge Thomas H. Dillon of Petersburg will seek the democratic nomination for governor. He is a prominent democrat and could completely fill ‘the executive chair. This is a promising yoar for judges. It now looks like T. Tom Tag--1 gart for national chairman and should it so prove to be, the Indiana cup of joy will be full to the brim. And in addition we might say that Indiana will get the kind of a warming up that will competely singe the pin feathers of those who appose the election of the democratic nominees. John Sharp Williams is back at his home in Yazoo City, where he will remain a few weeks in order that he may get a rest before plunging into the political campaign. It is understood that JMr. Williams has been assigned to the state of Indiana, where he will make several speeches and will then visit any other state to which the committee may think it advisable to send him. This is taken to mean a contradiction of the Republican statement that the Democrats have abandoned Indiana. The gold mining statistics of the past seven years have settled the question of a monetary standard. The republican party was no more responsible for the world's vastly increased output of gold than it was responsible for the world’s harvests since 1896. The committee on resolutions might have adopted the substance of the Mississippi financial plank and called attention to this patent truth, but the St. Louis platform had Jno room for super fluities. Its mission was to promul. gate living issues—Atlanta Constitution.
