John Andrews of Monroe was in town last evening. Curry Pyle of Geneva was a business callor here today. Oliver Snell of Markle was a business caller here today. Frank Roberts of Lima 0., was a business caller here today. Charles Volewede is at St. Louis this week taking in the World’s Fair. A marriage license has been issued to Clarence W. Brodbeok and Cora M. Shell. A. C. Gregory went to Ft. Wayne this morning to attend the [funeral of Mr. Higgins. Miss Bertha Voglewede left this morning for St. Louis to take in the World’s fair. Joseph D. Krick has been appointed administrator of the estate of James Krick deceased. True Fristoe went to Winona Lake tihs morning to spend several weeks with bis mother. Miss Nellie Fisher returned to Tocsin today aft >r visiting here for a short time with relatives. A. C. Lowe arrived last evening from Chanute Kansas and is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gast. The case of Erhart against Koening on an account of fifteen dollars will be tried before Squire Smith tomoirow morning. Med Miller has just completed a swell sign for Brann & Company the horsemen at Berne and will deliver the same today. Ladies having articles for the St. Vincent De Paul Society can leave them at the residence of Mrs. C . Rademaoker or at Mrs. N. Ehinger. The last will and testament of Jacob Krick deceased has been probated at the clerks's office. It gives all real and personal property to widow during her natural life and then to be equally divided among the surviving children. Samuel Pillars was in our city early this morning looking for farm hand to assist him in his harvest field. Mr. Pillars stated that this year was one of the hardest that farmers have yet experienced owing to the fact that all the crops need tending to at about the asme time.

Frank McConnell make a business trip to Berne this morning. Alex. Leßrun returned today from a business trip at Hoagland. W. R. Neal is attending to insurance business at Geneva today. Mrs. M. F. Martz left this morning for Decatur, Mich., to visit for a short time with relatives. John S. Peterson returned this morning from Rome City where he was visiting with his family. Father Valentine returned to Cincinnati today. While here he was the guest of Father Wilkins. James N. Fristoe returned today from Winona Lake where he has been spending a few days fishing. Mr. and Mrs. Behart of Strickland, Ind., are in the city the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Cunningham. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Curry went to Huntington today to visit for a short time with relatives. Albert Spuller went to Rome City this morning to take the joint debate between Clark and Grosvenor. Miss Minnie Weimer returned to Union City today after visiting here for a short time with Miss Hattie Moore. There will be a regular meeting of the city dads this evening and the regular business of the city will be attended to. John Stoneburner and daughter Laura went to Portland today to meet Mrs. Stoneburner who has been visiting there for a short time. The pay train on the Clover Leaf passed through here today and left behind them a nice bunch of the filthy lucre and all the boys are now running around with smiles on their faces. Paymaster Crall was in charge. Bluffton won their first game Sunday against the Delphos Can Company by a score of 12 to 5. Mac Harbaugh umpired and this no doubt was the direct cause of Bluffton winning, as no team could get a square deal with him officiating. One out of ten, oh well, thats not a bad record eh?

Mrs. M. J. Ciorlet went to Ft. Wayne this morning to visit with relatives. Dick Townsend went to Ft. Wayne this morning to attend the funeral of Mr. Higgins. Bud Brokaw went to Rome City this morning to attend the debate between Clark and Grosvenor. Mrs. John Edwards and daughter returned to Ft. Wayne this morning after viisting here for a short time with her parents. O. B. Blair was arrested last Saturday and brought before Town Clerk Chris Srengelt cn the charge of public intoxication. He plead guilty and was fined $3.00 and costs,"amounting to $11.05. William Sheets stayed the docket for him. —Berne Witness. Mr. and Mrs. F. U’ Loudon returned to Starkweather North Dakota today after visiting here for a short time with his parents and sister Mrs. Med Miller. This is Mr. Loudon’s first trip home in twelve years and who was astonished at the growth of our city.

Mart Elzey made a business trip to Ft. Wayne this morning. Wai Wemhoff made a buisness trip to Ft. Wayne this morning. Mrs. Daisy Laisuro went to Berne today to visit her sister. Hubert DeVoss made a buisness trip to Ft Wayne this morning. A. W. Fishbaugh returned this morning from a business trip at Berne. J. W. Koenig returned this morning from a business trip at Berne. Robert Simson one of the oldest men in Indiana, and one of the pioneer settlers of Wells and Adams counties, is visiting here with his son, George Simison. He came here last Friday from Linn Grove and may remain here with his son permanently, the latter so desiring if he can persuade his father to do r so. Mr. Simis on is ninety four years of age and althoug he is almost blind his mind and his memory are as strong and good as ever.—Bluffton News.
Burt Lew returned this morning from a business trip at Fort Wayne. Harmon Yager returned this morning from a business trip at Ft Wayne. Gus Rosenthal returned this morn ing from Fort Wayne where he was transacting business. Mrs. Fred Vaughn and son returned this morning from Churubusco where they were visiting relatives. A fierce struggle will take place tomorrow afternoon at Steele’s park when the two famous “try”-angle base ball teams, the Benneaters and the Boozelifters, willl struggle for supremacy. Frank Trimm is chief cook and bcttle-wasber for the B. JLs. while William Doehrman will manage the Beaneaters. Both teams are confident of victory and a game fight will be put up for the championship. Mose Krohn will plav second and issue smiles at intervals, while Chas. France will stand on first and. not let the bag get away. The game will will be called at two o’clock, and the atnbulence promptly at 5 o’clock. Go and see this game—once in a lifetime.
