Pleasant Mills The Fourth passed off very quietly here with a big rain in the evening. Willis Brewer of Elgin Ohio spent a few days hero with his father. Albert Fristoe and family of De- ■ oatur spent Sunday with friends ' here. Mrs. Chas. Battling’ and son of I Muncie, spent the Fourth with relatives here. Mrs. Luretta Acker returned home Saturday after a visit with relatives at Marion. Mrs. Bob Peterson and children of Decatur spent the Fourth here with her parents. Albert Fulerand family of Toledo is visiting a few days with their parents here. James Kizer is taking a few’weeks lay off from the Wayne Busii ness College. Chas. Peterson and family spent Sunday here with A. M Fuller and family. Mr. Gusten Slayer of Nyvadi, Ohio, spent the Fourth here with his daughter Mrs. F. Masters and family. Elder Ford a Baptist divine of Delphos Ohio conducted a meeting at the home of Irvin Carter last Sunday afternoon. Hall jr passed through here on Wednesday ;to the Studabaker cemetery for burial. Arther Sehaupp, Merlin Dunbar, Sterling P. Hoffman and sister : Nona, studants of the Marion Normal College spent the 4th at their parental homes. All returned to resume their studies on Tuesday morning except Mr. Dunbar. At about the hour of three o'clock I Sunday morning we discovered a | light in the Lindsey Hardware Store and sum discovered movable shadows in rear of counter crossing the street in our night clothes to put the supposed burglar to route, but were greatly disappointed to And Mr. Lindsey the cause of our disturbance.
