Mies Vera Ehinger returned today from Rome City where she has been spending a week at the lake. The bridge that spans MeKnight’s run was carried away last night and that road is now closed to traffic. Perry Ferry returned to Preble today after making an extended trip through northern Michigan. Jacob and Calvin Suttliff left today for South Dakota where they expect to make their future home. Mrs. Harry Cordua and son returned today from Pleasant Mills where she was visiting her parents. Bart France returned this morning from St. Louis and other points in the south west where he has been looking over the country. Mrs. Floyd Tester returned to Marion today, while here she was the guest of her patents, she was accompanied home by her brother Bruce. People & Holthouse and Meyers and Scheiman were compelled to take their horses from the cellar last night on account of the water backing up into them from sewers. Father Valentine of Cincinnati 0., is in our city giving a series of lectures at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church for the benefit of the young ladies of the church, he will be here one week. Mrs. Don Quinn will leave this evening for Cardwell Mo. where she will make her future home. Mr. Quinn who is employed by the Decatur Egg Case Company has removed his office to that place.

Carroll made a business trip to Fort Wayne this morning. William Cashbaum of Monroe was a business caller here today. D. E. Lanfesty of Fort Wayne was a business caller here today. Miss Hess arrived today from Fort Wayne and is the guest of her mother Miss Amelia returned to Monroe today after visiting here with friends. Miss Vergie Buckmaster returned to Geneva today after visiting here with friends. Miss Opal Harruff went to Berne today to visit fora few days with Miss Lucile Rose. Miss Bertha Elliott arrived today from Ft. Wayne and is the guest of Miss Gladyi Bowers. Mrs. D. P. Bolds passed through the city today enroute from Van Buren to Geneva to visit her son. There will be no street lights tonight until 9 30 on account of cleaning out large cistern at plant. Rev. George Clark arrived today from Los Angles, Calif., and is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Scott. Rev. Sprague es Monroe, went to Fort Wayne this murning to attend a district meeting of the Epworth League Cabinet. Mr. and Mts. Harry Wiuues and Miss Nellie Winnes returned this morning from St. Louis, where they attended the World’s Fair. The miscreant who stole the brand new halter from a cow belonging to William Breiner, had best return the same, as he knows the guitly party and arrests will follow. C. W. B. M. met Thursday at 2:30 o’clock at the home of Mrs. G. H Laughey. The meeting was one of interest. Topic, Latin America. A goodly number was in attendance. Charles Lose the popular young barber is walking around this morning with his face all swelled out of proportion, caused by coming in contact with the business end of a large bumble bee.
